How the price of laser hair removal procedure dictate its quality.

The correlation between laser hair removal procedure price and its quality

Lately we are having many new clients with one common denominator- they had all done a laser hair removal procedure sometime in the past and now most of the treated hair grew back. Most of those were people who purchased some very cheap deal on the Internet, but some paid a hefty sum of money, and were disappointed to find out that all their time and money went down the drain.

From my extensive experience, that includes roughly 50000 laser treatments performed during my long career, I can conclude quite certainly that there is a strong correlation between the price of the laser procedure and the return that will be obtained by the end of the day. It is true, however, that an expensive treatment price will not always guarantee high performance quality, but a significantly low price will defiantly increase the risk of poor quality performance to almost 100%.

It should be noted that the procedure price depends on many factors and lowering it drastically will always come on the expense of factors that are essential for a high procedure performance.

Who is not familiar with the saying "Time is money"? In our case time equals cost, that of the machine operator and the cost of its amortization. to ensure complete destruction of the hair follicle there is a need for a minimum amount of energy, a laser energy. Meaning, the amount of energy that will reach to the follicle is a function of the machine strength, of its operation time and its technical condition.

If you wonder why cant we just use a higher setting of the laser the reason is to avoid burning the patient skin. There is a limit to the setting that we can use before a damage might occur.
Therefore there is no other option but to work in a lower setting on one hand and increasing the session time on the other. This is similar to a water pipe designed to fill a pool - the stronger the current, the shorter the time it would take it to fill the pool.

And how is the technical condition of the machine effecting? Simple, the laser machine uses laser diodes to produce the laser beam. When those diodes are new, they produce strong laser beam, however when they are old and over used, their produced laser is getting weaker until it is no longer capable to destroy the follicles. Its like our water pipe can deliver a very small quantity of water until it will never be able to fill up the pool.

If so, why cant the diodes just replaced when their power have gone and they are not efficient anymore?

The answer is very simple: Money. The cost of replacing the diodes in a laser hair removal system is extremely high and can easily reach some tens of thousands of dollars. Many of the clinics, especially those who offer a very low price for their services, will prefer to keep working with the machine even its in a state of 0 effectiveness.

An obvious conclusion - the price of a laser procedure will necessarily influence on its quality and anyone that consider having it done, should take in in account.
