Benefits of Laser Hair Removal

When it comes to removing body hair, you have many options. You can choose to shave, but the hair usually comes back within a day or so.  Waxing your hair is another option that lasts a few weeks, but the process is painful. Other long-lasting hair removal options, like electrolysis, are good but are both painful and time-consuming. There is one long-lasting hair removal option that is worth it: laser hair removal. There are numerous benefits to laser hair removal.
Reduction of Hair
Laser hair removal is only semi-permanent. Being semi-permanent means you will have to go back for more treatments. However, one laser hair removal treatment dramatically reduces hair growth.  Reducing hair growth is accomplished by using the laser to burn the melanin all the way down to the hair follicle and root. Hair reduction can be dramatic enough that you may not have to shave.
Little Pain
Many semi-permanent and permanent hair removal processes include a significant amount of pain. The pain level for laser hair removal falls between shaving and waxing. Since laser hair removal is not as invasive, the pain you experience is minimal. The technician also uses ice and other things to numb the area before and after treatment to reduce pain. You should also know the more treatments you have, the less pain you experience.
Cost Effective
The cost up front for laser hair removal is high, but over your lifetime, laser hair removal will reduce other costs. You will no longer have to spend money on razors, depilatory creams, and wax treatments since laser hair removal treatments replace these items.
No Waiting for Hair Growth
Unlike waxing and other hair removal treatments, with laser hair removal you do not have to wait until surface hair appears to have a treatment done. You are encouraged to shave before a laser treatment to prevent any scorching of surface hair. Not having to wait for surface hair to appear means you can have treatments whenever. You can also remain hair free in between your treatments.
Eliminates Ingrown Hairs
When choosing laser hair removal, you don't have to worry about ingrown hairs. Laser hair removal is a very precise treatment that targets the hair follicle under the skin. Since there is no pulling or ripping out of hair, there is no chance of having an ingrown hair. Other treatments, such as waxing and threading involve ripping and pulling of hair, which can lead to more ingrown hairs.

Fast
Laser hair removal treatments are fast. Most treatments are complete within 20 minutes. However, the exact amount of time is based on the size of the area being treated. Laser hair removal also doesn't have to be done as often as other treatments. In the long run, laser hair removal will save you time because you do not have to take the time to shave every few days.

Choosing Laser Acne Treatment for Healthy Looking Skin

Acne is one of the most common skin disorders that affect men and women, both young and old. Like most sufferers, you probably spend hundreds on acne medication or other topical creams with little to no success. However, you still have other options. Dermatologists today are using lasers for a number of skin related issues, including laser acne treatment. Laser acne treatment works, by penetrating the skin in order to treat acne breakouts. If you haven’t considered this option, now is the time to do your research.
Different Types of Laser Acne Treatment
Like most things, one size does not fit all. Therefore, it makes sense that laser acne treatments would also have different options from which to you can choose. The major difference, from one treatment to the next, is simply how powerful the laser is. Using a high-power laser is just one option. However, the side effects and pain increase with the strength of the laser used. Typically, a low-power laser is used to treat stubborn or severe acne. This is also known as cold laser therapy. This form of laser treatment is known to have anti-inflammatory effects, which makes it the perfect solution for your acne.
What is Laser Acne Treatment?
Laser acne treatment works by concentrating a laser light on problem areas in your skin. As the laser penetrates the skin, it excites the compounds that cause the bacteria called porphyrins. Excited porphyrins damage the bacterial wall, which kills the bacteria. Since there are fewer acne bacteria, it will reduce the symptoms of acne. As mentioned earlier, laser treatments are known to have anti-inflammatory properties. Since the root of acne is an inflammatory disease, laser treatments reduce the inflammation that causes acne. Laser acne treatment is a more aggressive way of treating acne than more traditional routes, with a higher rate of success.
What to Expect
If you schedule an appointment for laser acne treatment, what can you expect on your visit? Thankfully, laser treatments are considered outpatient procedures, which means you are not required to stay overnight. Additionally, because it is not a surgical procedure, you don’t need to worry about major preparations the night before. Simply make sure you have a clean face before your appointment. Most dermatologists perform laser treatments right their office.
During your treatment, your doctor places a laser over the areas of your face where you are experiencing acne breakouts. They usually, hold the laser over the acne anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes, depending on the severity of your acne. They repeat this process in designated areas of your face or perform the treatment on your entire face. It depends on how widespread your acne is.
Is it Painful?
Like any procedure, you want to know the level of pain you might experience so that you can prepare yourself. Thankfully, with advancements in technology patients usually experience little to no discomfort during low laser treatments. Most patients state only the feel of warming of the skin, but no pain or discomfort. However, when you receive high-power laser treatment, you should expect an increase in pain and discomfort.
Side Effects
When you think of pointing lasers at your face, you probably find yourself anxious about the side effects. Thankfully, with low laser treatments, the side effects are minimal. Most patients say there is no scarring or other visible side effects. No one wants to trade one problem for another, and you won’t have to with laser acne treatment.
How Many Treatments?
Before making a decision on this treatment plan, you need to know the level of commitment it requires. For instance, is one treatment enough to guarantee the complete removal of stubborn acne? Usually, these acne treatments require two sessions every week for 4 to 6 weeks. Most patients report seeing results after the second week of treatment is complete.
Do the Treatments Work?
In most cases, laser acne treatment severely reduces the presence of acne. However, the results are not usually 100%. Your doctor will prescribe other treatment along with laser acne treatment. While some patients will need additional treatments, please know that results vary from one patient to the next.

If you suffer from severe or stubborn acne, then laser acne treatment is a method you need to try. The ability to focus on trouble areas leads to greater success in combatting this skin issue. Moreover, because this treatment goes deeper than other acne treatments, it is more effective.

Laser hair removal - Common causes for treatment failure

Laser hair removal - common causes for treatment failure

Disappointments from the laser treatment are a common phenomenon experienced by many people who just wanted to get rid of unwanted hair. Often the culprit is at the laser Institute (for all sorts of reasons) and which are usually not dependent on the client who cannot reduce the extent of the damage.

This time I would like to concentrate on things that are solely depend on the clients and their ability to influence the outcome, as well as the quality of their laser treatment.

1. Maintaining the sequence of treatments prescribed - It is extremely important to maintain the sequence of the treatments as determined by the service provider. The treatment should be performed every 6-8 weeks (depending on the area of the treatment) because of the hair growth cycle and the fact that the hair can be destroyed only when treated on its active phase. It is common that patients tend to postpone their next treatment due to bad weather or even to save some money. This so might disrupt the continuation of treatment so that more treatments will be needed to achieve the desired result, causing a higher total cost.

2. Do not wax the hair - remember that the laser beam must damage and therefore destroy the hair follicle. Pulling the follicle away will prevent the destruction. Therefore, it is possible to shave the hair but never wax it.

3. Avoid excessive tanning. "Burning the skin," caused by over exposure to the sun or by insufficient use of protective sunscreen cream, will prevent you from getting the treatment at the scheduled time forcing you to wait until the tan diminished (two to three weeks), which will necessarily disrupt the desired treatment sequence(see section 1).

4. Frequent changing your service provider - The phenomenon of customers who replace their laser institute in the middle of their laser procedure is very common. Frequently customers start their procedure after having already visited a large number of institutes; hence the task of treating them in an efficient manner becomes very difficult. Each institute uses different methods and/or equipment. Some employ more skilled workers and other less, and the sequence of treatments that is so important for success is not preserved. These factors influence the Institute's ability to ensure appropriate results for the customer.

5. Choosing the right Laser Institute – (Following previous section) choosing the correct laser provider is a prerequisite for getting good results. Many people are tempted to choose an institute according to price or convenience of arrival as its location is relatively close making the journey less burdensome. It should be taken into account that the Laser Institute must be attended only once in two months, a worthwhile effort.

6. Do not start the laser treatment if you are not sure you that you have the financial means to complete it. The phenomenon of starting treatment and discontinuation it after just one or several treatments because of funding difficulties is very common. It is recommended to wait until you have all the financial means to complete the treatment without having to stop it and renew it periodically depending on the condition of your wallet.

Yours Faithfully,

Liliana
